According to Sports Illustrated here are JP’s rushing stats at Tulane in 2003:
13 games
88 rushing attempts
19 yards
6 rushing TD
26 sacks
Since sack yardage is subtracted from rushing yards in college the rushing yardage total is lower than it would be in the NFL (but I couldn‘t find yards lost to sacks only so I couldn‘t get an accurate number for real rushing yards gained).
Assuming sacks also count as rushing attempts we can subtract the 26 sacks and we’re left with 62 real rushing attempts. Over 13 games that’s 4.8 per game.
Using some reasonable assumptions we can try to project his rushing figures in the NFL.
14 Games
4 Attempts per game
5.5 yards/rush
Season:
56 Rushes
308 Yards
That would put him approximately 4th in the league in rushing (probably behind Vick, Culpepper, and McNabb).
