From his rookie year with the Buffalo Bills in 1988 - after being a Heisman Trophy finalist at Oklahoma State - to his final year in 2000 with the Miami Dolphins, Thomas established himself as one of the great running backs in NFL history.
These days, however, Thomas is about much more than the 12,074 rushing yards, five pro bowls and four Super Bowl appearances accomplished during his playing career. Buffalo's all-time leading rusher has spent the past five years out of pro football, giving back to communities around the nation.
Today, Thomas will be giving plenty to the City of Bridges. He will start as a guest at Don Thompson's youth football clinic, and will continue helping a very noble cause, raising money for the new cancer center at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
