Sports Illustrated's Paul Zimmerman, who visited the Buffalo Bills training camp this week, says the team's hopes for a playoff spot in the rugged AFC probably hinge on getting a quick jump out of the gate.
A year ago, Buffalo began 0-4, an anchor that ultimately sank its playoff hopes despite winning nine of its final 12 games. This year, the Bills face only one opponent with a winning 2004 record (Atlanta at 11-5) in the first five weeks. "If they get off to a fast start, they have a shot," Zimmerman said. "If they can pick up from that streak they had last year, certainly they have a shot.
