Looks like Coy Wire worked hard all off-season in an unorthodox type training and has improved. Even the coaches are commenting...that's good news should Milloy go down again. I always felt Coy had potential. His defense against the run and blitzing is fantastic. It was his coverage skills against the pass that sucked big time. But if he's improved that area of his play, he could become a really good player!!!

If Milloy goes down again we're screwed. We had a realistic shot at winning the JAX and @OAK games last year with Milloy, both game winning TDs were back-up safeties getting burned.

4th year...time to fish or cut bait.

We can't cut him - he's a monster on ST. Unless Leonhard could come in and do what Wire does, it is doubtful. Besides, I think Leonhard is a Free Safety anyway - he's competing with Baker and although he shows promise, he will most likely end up in the PS.

i always liked wire, as most know.. but i was even down on him last year after he played so poorly in coverage.. i would love to see him step up his game in that area.. because like most have pointed out.. he is a great run stuffer and blitzer.. he is ideal for ss if he could just cover somebody

he's exactly what he was drafted to be: a 46 Strong Safety.

i agree.. but even a 46 strong saftey should have some coverage ability.

:bf1:

Sometimes the best is never enough but I feel sorry for guys like him who give it their all while guys like TO who are naturally gifted act like primmadonna's

I'm just glad they finally kept him at one position instead of moving him back and forth between SS and FS.

Did you see Leonhard squared up and leveled that Packer in the scrimmage? For a guy his size that was very impressive. I hope he makes the team.

I don't think he makes it to the final cut

Leonhard. Then again, guys like him are the ones we pull for, but I just don't see him having the physical talent to stick in our secondary, especially over Wire or Baker...unless we keep 5 S's?

i agree.. but even a 46 strong saftey should have some coverage ability.and also should have some leadership... remember that SS is the captain of the secondary...
