Ok...now that Everett has signed, I can make a modest attempt at a final accounting. Trust me, it's modest. ESPN, in years past, has had info to most draft choices' contracts. I guess, in 2005, they've decided to stop. Hopefully, that's an aberration. However, for few deals, I do have enough info AND using estimations can give ya approx. what the Bills picks rec'd.

Bills rookie pool was $2,109,800

2) WR Parrish: 4 yrs, $2.705 million with $1.32 million signing bonus. His salaries are $230,000 (2005), $310,000 (2006), $385,000 (2007), and $460,000 (2008). He most likely has a salary escalator in 2008. 2005 cap value: $560,000 (Public report)

See below for TE Everett

4) C Duke Preston: 4 yrs, approx. $1.7 million. with estimated signing bonus $300,000. Same salaries as for Parrish and Everett. He also likely has an escalator in 2008. 2005 cap value: $305,000 est.

5) CB Eric King: 3yrs, approx. $1.1 million with estimated signing bonus of $105,000. Salaries are $230,000, $310,000, and $385,000. No escalators likely. 2005 cap value: $265,000 est.

6) OL Geisinger: 3yrs, approx. $1 million. with estimated signing bonus of $63,000. Salaries are like King's. No escalators likely. 2005 cap value: $251,000 est.

7) RB Gates: 3yrs, $959,000 with $34,000 signing bonus. Salaries like King. No escalators likely. 2005 cap value: $241,333 (public report)

Add these numbers up and you get $1,622,333. That leaves $487,467

Bills signed a number of UDFAs like S Leonhard and FB Goldsberry. UDFAs are different in that only their signing bonus amortization counts vs rookie pool, not the salaries. Bills gave Goldsberry a 3yr deal with a $20,000 signing bonus. That's $6,667/yr. They gave Leonhard a 2 yr deal with $10,000 signing bonus. That's $5,000/yr. Total between the two is $11,667. Most of the other UDFAs rec'd smaller bonuses. I've estimated that the UDFAs count $20,000 on the rookie pool....that leaves $467,967 for Everett. Everett rec'd a 4 yr deal with salaries of $230,000 (2005), $310,000 (2006), $385,000 (2007), & $460,000 (2008). He most likely has a salary escalator for 2008.

Subtract $230,000 from bolded amt above and you get $237,967. Multiply that by 4 and you get $951,868 as an estimted signing bonus

My prediction is that Everett's signing bonus was $950,000 and that his 2005 cap value is $467,5000

I'll try to get most definitive info as soon as possible.

If anything is in error :blamelog:
