It looks like his special training with the trainer that Bobby April recommended (Mackie Shilstone...trainer to Jeff Wilkins and other NFL kickers) helped. I noticed that Lindell was consistently kicking the ball within the 5-yard line and even kicked one into the end zone. Maybe that special trainer will have helped Lindell on FGs too.

R.Lindell kicks 65 yards from BUF 30 to IND 5
R.Lindell kicks 69 yards from BUF 30 to IND 1
R.Lindell kicks 72 yards from BUF 30 to IND -2
R.Lindell kicks 66 yards from BUF 30 to IND 4

I noticed this! I saw that one kick-off that went like 5 yards deep in the endzone and I almost feel out of my seat! So far I like what Ive seen from him and I think hes making a huge effort to improve.

Well, like I said in my post....According to Bills Digest, he worked with a special trainer in the offseason. Bobby April recommended him and said that he helped Jeff Wilkins. Apparently he put together a program for Lindell that "began with stretching exercises conducive to the kicking motion. Then there were movement exercises that worked off the stretching exercises. There's a lot of range of motion and core training."

Plus I did notice in training camp that his kickoffs are farther and more explosive than before. So far in week 1 of preseason, it showed.

Maybe when the season starts, we won't burn a timeout because the coach thinks a 45 FG is too far to make.

So basically he hired a guy to tweak his kicking motion like people hire coaches to improve their golf swing?

All within 40 yards. After 40 yards that's a different story.

He showed improvement, and he kicked better than the Colts kickoff specialist, but it was indoors. Lets see how he does at the Ralph over the next couple preseason games.

Damn it, good point. I was ready to start a party, but I guess it has to wait.
