As the two men who run the San Diego Chargers began to dissect a season gone bad, answers, like late-season victories, were in vastly short supply.
Two days after a sour end to their season, coach Marty Schottenheimer and general manager John Butler refused to discuss specifics about how they intend to rebound from an 8-8 finish that kept the Chargers out of the playoffs for the seventh straight year. Only Cincinnati has missed the playoffs for a longer stretch, 12 seasons.
