theyve got mark recchi too. they signed him the summer before the lockout. not to mention that the goalie fluery is gonna be sick. on paper right now, i'd say that they look like a definate playoff team.

Winning the lottery made all the differance. I saw an interview where they said the Penguins sold 3,000 tickets the day they won Crosby.

Yeah, but they were getting the people already coming back because of Crosby, why bother signing anybody else? Mario and Sydney would get them plenty of people. Now they are just wasting their money on these overpriced hacks. :D

pens are gunna be a fun team to watch thats for damn sure, but i hate how suddenly theres gunna be a BUNCH of Pens "fans" that pop up

The big difference with Pittsburgh is that they had little $$ tied up coming into this season. I think they, of all teams in the NHL, had the least amount of $$ tied up.

If the Sabres won the lottery, they would have been content to ride Crosby this year and not add anyone.

I look forward to hearing Sabres management ***** that they lost money when they finish in 10th.
