After a 6-1 start that seemed to have them heading for the playoffs, the New Orleans Saints finished where they have so often - waiting for next year.
For the second straight season, they collapsed at the end, losing their last three games to finish 9-7, a half-game out of the post-season. A year ago, they lost four straight after starting 7-5. But coach Jim Haslett said these aren't the same old 'Aints. This was, after all, only the seventh winning season in the team's 36-year history.
