    On This Date in Bills History....

    1966- The Bills aquire running back Jack Spikes from the fish for a future draft pick.

    1969- The Bills play the first game of a doubleheader at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. They lost to the Chicago Bears 23-16, while Green Bay beat the Browns 27-17, before 85,532 fans.

    1986- Jim Kelly makes his NFL debut against the Bears at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. He was five for nine, for sixty yards, and had two touchdowns dropped. Jim Haslett broke his leg in the game and was lost for the season.

    2001- Gregg William's Bills are shutout in the preseason finale, 20-0.

      You don't know your Bills history, do you.

      I was at that Notre Dame Game. The Bills were so bad that they did better having "home " preseason games on the road.

      I remember those old double headers in Detroit.

        The Bills never really gave a crap about the preseason, as evidenced by their

        80-128-3 lifetime record from 1960, to last Friday.

          That Jack Spikes trade was a barn burner.
          Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
