On This Date in Bills History....

1967- The Bills defeated the Jets 31-23 in Mobile, Alabama.

1970- Coach Rauch trades Booker Edgerson, the Bills starting left cornerback since 1962, to the Broncos for a draft choice.

1971- Continuing with his youth movement, after starting 143 straight games as a Bill, right cornerback Butch Byrd is dealt to the Denver Broncos for a future draft choice.

1977- Lou Piccone is obtained from the New York Jets.

1997- The Bills opened the regular season with a 34-13 defeat at home to the Minnesota Vikings. Todd Collins looked pathetic at quarterback.
