COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre was placed on injured reserve Thursday with a fracture around his eye.
The move was made retroactive to Sunday, when Grand-Pierre was hurt fighting in a 5-2 loss at St. Louis. He's out indefinitely, Columbus general manager Doug MacLean said.
The Blue Jackets also activated defenseman Jamie Allison from injured reserve.
In 24 games this season, Grand-Pierre scored one goal. He missed seven games while on injured reserve with a sprained knee.
Allison, who was acquired in March in a trade with the Calgary Flames, has missed 13 games with a sprained hand.
