On This Date in Bills History....

1962- The Bills defeat the Patriots 7-6 as quarterback Al Dorrow completes 17 of 28 passes.

1980- Joe DeLamielleure was traded to the Cleveland Browns for a second round pick in 1981 and a second round pick in 1982.

1991- The Bills opened the regular season with a 35-31 thrashing of the fish, their ninth win against then in the last 10 tries. Jim Kelly threw for a career high 381 yards, and the Bills offense rolled up 583 yards against the inept Miami defense.

1996- In a rare Sunday Night road opener, the Bills fell behind the New York Giants 17-0, then rallied to win 23-20 in overtime at the Meadowlands

That Joe D thing got ugly at the end. He and Knox just didn't like each other.

We should have kept Joe D and got rid of "Ground Chuck."
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I remember that one...BRUCE skipped training camp and he used the first half as his preseason game...then came on like gangbusters in the second half and, with Spielman, stopped the Giants in overtime to allow Christie to kick the gamewinner
