Personally, I will NEVER miss Tucker. I just wasnt that impressed. I think Preston will do just fine.

If your point is that our o-line depth is weak, I absolutely agree! I lobbied here a few days back to upgrade some of our backups from the last round of cuts. I would have liked to see some players like:

Mike Compton, Anthony Clements, CJ Brooks yet we stuck with who we have. None of those guys is a C but any would have been better than our current depth. Im a little worried that yet again our o-line depth is weak and costs us games.

Im fine with our starters except for the penalties from Anderson. But after the starters we are pretty darn slim.

We need to bring back Tucker, if he's healthy. He knows our system.

OK, just did some scouring of the cuts, yes they were cut but someone has to be at least a competition to Preston at C:

Brett Romberg
Vince Carter
Ben Claxton

Not alot to choose from.

Im gonna look at backups as in a trade next.

OK, I scanned the depth charts from NFL.com for names that stuck out to me at backup C. Personally I think we may be fine with Preston but im willing to feed the sky is falling folks.

These are the BACKUPS that seem familiar to me:
Cinn- Ben Wilkerson
CHI- Roberto Garza
Dal- Andre Gurode
GB- Grey Reugamer- also backups up at G
Scott Welss- also backups up at G
Min- Adam Goldberg
KC- Chris Bober
NO- Jamar Nesbit
NE- Russ Hochstein- also backup G
SF- Eric Heitmann
Sea- Chris Spencer
Pitt- Chucky Okobi
Was- Corey Raymer

Overall, Im a bit pleasantly suprised in a way. The rest of the league doesnt seem to be too deep on the OL either. Im not really sure any of these guys is a serious upgrade to Preston. But sure, there are some guys here with potential. Problem is, if we trade for one in hopes of saving a few games until Teague gets back [Thats if you assume not having Teague will costs us games] and you trade for one of these guys, you basically are telling Preston he isnt our future at C.

BTW, Chris Specer was a 1`st rounder, not likely we could or would even try to land him even if we felt we needed a potential star.

If Tucker's back was in bad shape he wasn't going to be worth keeping on the roster.

Preston had a real good preseason so he'll probably get the nod at RG.

However once again bills fans freak out like the little girls they are and cry DOOMED any chance they get

DOOMED DOOMED DOOMED

The Bills have depth at OL

We have 2 OL on IR Smith, Lawrence (http://buffalobills.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=47883), and Sobieski, Ben (http://buffalobills.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=122596)

and 2 OL on the practice squad McFarland, Dylan (http://buffalobills.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=122632), Esposito, Jasen (http://buffalobills.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=122628)

the practice squad players can be called up , and the IR guys will return to duty.

All 4 of these guys played in our system some last year. So I'm not sure why everyones freaking out about our OL, and the players we kept. Obviously the Bills coaches kept the players active that deserve to make the squad, put 2 OL on IR who are banged up, and placed 2 OL on the Practice squad to get more seasoning and be avaialble for call up.

nothing but a big over flowing dish of optomism being served up by me. I just cannot get behind the negative nancies. Too many Bills fans have reduced themsleves to doom and gloomers.

Who is freaking out that the sky is falling and the season is over?? I havent seen one post in this thread like that. Everyone is simply discussing the event. Where is anyone freaking out? Where still gonna reck s*** this Sunday and every Sunday, everyone relax, nobody is scared.

Billsfancupp38 made a Tucker reference, a guy let go because his back is screwed. There are posts once again desperately searching the waiver wire for Ol help.

there are also numerous posts in other threads about the Bills OL, who we cut who we kept and nuemrous references to TD being the problem, which IMO is th ebiggest joke going.

and there is only a matter of a post or 3 before we start seeig the negative comments... I'm just jumping the gun, but we all know it will happen

Injuries happen, and our coaches kept the best players on the team who could fill in for an injured player.

I don't see panic, I just see Bills fans debating on how to improve their beloved team, which is the purpose of these message boards.

glad to see that some people refuse to see how an injury to a starter on the weakest area of our team is anything to be concerned about. No-name backup linemen protecting a quarterback with 0 game experience- now there's a recipe for success!

Let's not forget also, that if need be, Bannan can play Guard and did decent last year. I know they said the "experiment" is over, but if need be, he could fill in. I think that might be a reason they felt comfortable letting Ross Tucker go...

In this thread I over-reacted, but its rampant on all of the Bills message boards. It gets on my nerves after awhile.

I thought IR during the preseason meant "done for the season"?

I think there's an option to re-activate players on IR at week 8- if they're left on IR it means they're done for the season.

IR means done for the season..Smith and Sobieski won't be back in 2005
It's the PUP list where players can come back around midseason...Kevin Thomas and Kevin Everett
