I like that he is staying on as an assistant coach.

The scene had become an annual tradition. The day after their season ended, the Buffalo Sabres would gather at HSBC Arena to clean out their lockers.
And James Patrick would field questions from reporters about whether he would retire. For five years the defenseman would politely answer that he didn't know, that he would wait and see.

I honestly thought at some times during the past 2 seasons he was our best defenseman at age 40 something. I really liked him. Good that we get to keep him around.
