I was there. And two weeks earlier at the Jets game that was the record up until then.

My clearest memory is ten minutes after buying my beer I was crunching on my Bud sno-cone by squishing the bottom of the paper cup.

-40 celcius is -40 farenheight it is a straight line function that intersects at (-40,-40) so this is an idea of what the temperatures are. -40 wind chill is pretty stiff for a measurement on the surface of play. I would have to guess in 1967 the stadium was build like a surface level wind tunnel not like the ones today that whip the winds around. -40 is not all that cold on the right sunny day the air temperature can be 20F and the wind chill make it -40 below while it is still tolerable as long as you aren't in a sustainded wind from the source of the cold...ie you aren't standing on the beach at the body of water that is blowing all this wind around. Yeah it's cold but I have seen worse. I'm not a weather person at all either.

C=0.....F=32

C=20.....F=68

I actually went snowmobiling in the early 80's when it was -55 F, without the wind chill.

hahaha I grew up on the bowels of Lake Ontario you don't have to tell me about wind chill. That chart is of an index which is an excellent indicator of tendencies but it reflects the observations as a whole not each observation individually. There are plenty of outliers and I have lived through several of them. 40 below wind chill is a lot different than 40 below air temperature. I hate the cold. That's one good thing about when it's snowing it never gets that cold.

LOL... just checking.

I grew up in the middle of the Finger Lakes, with Ontario to the North and Erie to the West. Then later I lived in Alaska. Of course SD is the worst.... last winter (Jan) the 116 mph gusting wind ripped my bug guard 3/4 of the way off of my pickup... So I ran out to rip it the rest of the way off (since it was slamming up against the hood), and thought that I was going to freeze. Have I mentioned that it was 60 here today?

I was at the Raider game... I was on the top deck, facing the wind, and actually didn't think it was that cold for the first half... then I wandered around at halftime, came back to my seat and I swear the temp must have dropped 10degrees, because in the second half I froze. I actually had frostbite on my feet, and my scarf was frozen solid from the condensation of my breath (it took 10minutes in a heated car just to take off the scarf). I'll never forget that game though... the Raiders dominated the 1st half with their running game, the Bills took the game in the 2nd half with special teams and a little O. Great game.

BTW: I went to both games in 1994.....the Jets game, I shared a sleeping bag with "oh whats her name: bee-atch"
