To suggest that a couple of plays made the difference in the Buffalo Bills' season would be a misleading assessment of the club.
It's true that the Bills might have squeaked into the playoffs if they had stopped one of the two kickoff returns for touchdowns in the opener against the New York Jets and if Drew Bledsoe hit Peerless Price on the deep post in Kansas City. Two more wins and the Bills are hosting a playoff game this weekend.

Consider the 54-yard Mike Hollis field goal that sent the Minnesota game into overtime . . . or the 15-yard taunting penalty on Houston's Jay Foreman to keep alive a fourth-quarter scoring drive that tied the game, 24-24.

"Miami, New England, Kansas City, and about eight other teams are saying the same thing - one play here or there," linebacker Eddie Robinson said. "The way I look at football is what should have happened, happened."

The Bills still are one productive offseason - and maybe two - away from being a bona fide Super Bowl contender. ...MORE...
