Gannon outplayed Favre - end of debate
The Most Valuable Player debate between Oakland's Rich Gannon and Green Bay's Brett Favre could go round and round without end.
Gannon had better production; Favre had a lesser supporting cast. Both are worthy.
But Gannon's production was so remarkable that he deserves the award.
The Raiders' 37-year-old quarterback broke Warren Moon's 11-year-old record for completions in a season. He passed for the seventh-most yards in NFL history.
