    On This Date in Bills History....

    1960- The Bills lose their first ever home opener to Denver 27-21.

    1966- Scoring the most ever points in team history, the Bills squish the fish 58-24 at War Memorial Stadium. Butch Byrd and Bobby Burnett both scored a pair of touchdowns.

    1979- After the opening loss to Miami, the Bills had Roy Gerela and Nick Mike-Mayer in for tryouts.

    1985- Hank Bullough benches Bruce Smith in favor of Don Smith. Bruce's response? "I had a couple bad days at the office."

    1988- The Bills defeated the Pats with :14 left on a Norwood field goal. It was the Bills first win against the Patriots since the "Big Ben" game in 1981.

    1994- With the Bills in their white road throwbacks, Steve Christie kicks five field goals, as the Bills defeat the Oilers 15-7 at the Astrodome.
