    Dr. Z Ranks Wideouts

Dr. Z oncnnsi.com has Eric Moulds rankd in his Top 10 receivers in the NFL. He has some glowing things to say about Moulds and really makes you think, what if he would have had one offensive coordinator, one head coach, and less than 7 different QB's in his career, how great could he have been? Seems like Moulds was not rewarded for loyalty, maybe financially, but everyone knows that has never mattered to Eric.

this is what I've been saying all along. Moulds still managed to be a good wr despite having qb's who hold on to the ball too long. He will need separation when qb's throw straight for Moulds' nos. No, throw it up and above his head where he beats wr's for the ball. I don't care if JP gets intercepted every now and then but Moulds will still get his yards with his size and his being physical if he is being thrown to.

There is no way he is a Top 10. Top 15 at best. A few years ago he was but not right now.

He doesn't make enough big plays or score enough TD's to be a Top 10. At best he's a good possesion receiver at this point in his career.

Other teams don't quake at his presence anymore, that's for sure.

Here's guys I'd rank ahead of Moulds in the AFC alone as of right now. He's top ten now like Travis Henry was top 5- in his own mind alone.

            Lee Evans
            Deon Branch
            David Givens
            Laverneous Coles
            Derrick Mason
            Andre Johnson
            Marvin Harrison
            Reggie Wayne
            Jimmy Smith
            Drew Bennett
            Rod Smith
            Randy Moss

Bennett no way, Branch and Givens ... Branch maybe, but not Givens. Rod Smith? He's lost more than EM. Those are all different kinds of WRs, different styles and games. If we need someone to catch a 12 yard slant for a first down, I'd take EM over most of those guys.

                Laverneous Coles..............yup
                Derrick Mason....................yup
Andre Johnson...................yup, but mostly on potential
                Marvin Harrison..................no question
                Reggie Wayne....................not really
                Jimmy Smith........................definitely..very underrated wr
                Drew Bennett.....................nope
                Rod Smith...........................equal i think
                Randy Moss........................the best

Just my opinion. Branch was hurt last year but I bet he ends up with more yards and TD's than Moulds this year. I take Givens because he does the stuff Moulds doesn't like to do anymore- go over the middle and take the big hit and he catches the damn ball. Even if you take those guys out the idea that Moulds is top 10 in the league is ridiculous. He's probably not top 20 any more.

                          You forgot Hines Ward, too.
