"News briefs: Titans' Henry violates substance abuse policy

ST. LOUIS -- Tennessee Titans (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/TEN) running back Travis Henry will be suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, CBS reported.

CBS said on The NFL Today pregame show that Henry would be disciplined. A Titans spokesman said he was unaware of the situation. Phone messages left with Hadley Engelhard, Henry's agent, were not returned.

Henry was the Titans' leading rusher with 97 yards and a 3.5 yard average in the first two games, and had two carries for no yards in the first half of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams....."

It's a good thing we rid ourselves of this distraction.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's crack/cocaine. He went through a lot of money in 3 years when he came begging on his knees for a 1 year extension to obtain some cash.

:lolpoint: Tennessee.

Donahoe has his faults but he's proven to be adept at ditching worthless players.

Do you suppose that that will hurt Tennessee's chances at finishing with a decent record? Especially if Brown goes down to injury and they are running with Peyton. High 3rd round pick...yippee!

I think Tennessee was already hurting as far as their chances of finishing with a decent record- they had to cut 6 starters due to their cap situation. Brown is great when healthy but he can't last a whole season. These guys may end up with Leinart as McNair's replacement.

And I'll be laughing (at least until draft day) because I've despised the Titans ever since the Music City Mirage.

All the better for the Bills, they get a draft pick because of the TH trade.

The interesting thing is that Henry was already in "the program" before being traded. The Titans were aware of this. However, is this the first time it found its way into the media?

Yep.

Funny how the NFL was pissed off at the show Playmakers. Yet they brush crap like this under the rug.

Yep. Hmmm Playmakes is SUCH fiction. The show had players who were wifebeaters, drug addicts, murderers... The NFL would NEVER have any of those types of guys, right?

It continually amazes me that people sign contracts for millions of dollars (and agree to certain rules/regulations) and then can't honor it for a few years.
