At Least There Is No More Urgency...

Many of us were thinking that our young offense would have to get it together fairly rapidly, before the defense - because of age, free agency and/or injury - began to decline.

Well, our vaunted defense is in free fall, unable to stop the run and incapable of stopping the pass in critical third down and red zone situations. The D was supposed to keep us in games until Losman and the rest of the offense matured, but that hasn't happened the last 2 weeks.

It appears that JP and the O can now take their time, as the D has become at best a very ordinary unit. The loss of Spikes will only make it worse. I think we'll have to spend the next offseason shoring up the defense.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

We're doomed without Takeo, as great as a player as he is, he's 20 times more of a leader on this team. This year is toast, leave Losman in and lets see what we've got.

or you could take the opposite view- the only way this team can improve is if the offense matures and does it damn quickly. Not likely, but what choice do they have?
