...to the people of New Orleans and surrounding areas.

The NFL told San Antonio that they still have to sell out the game by Thursday before they lift the blackout. There are still over 14,000 tickets remaining. If you ask me that isn't fair considering the fact that if life were normal again in the Gulf States that game would have been sold out if it were played in the Superdome.

I tihnk the league needs to give those folks a break and show the game.

They made an exception for the pathetic Giants fans that couldn't sell out their stadium for the MNF game. I think they'll make another exception for this. If they don't...**** the greedy ******* owners! **** the NFL!

The Saints season ticket holders automatically get seats in the new stadium.. those tickets are considered sold.

IMO they should lift the blackout for all Saints home games this year. It would be a nice gesture.

Agreed. I think they should also let about a few thousand refugees come to the game for free. It's their first official "home" game and there are a lot of refugees in Texas...why not let them all come to the game free of charge?

Today's update:

There was a ticket blitz on Wednesday, as local businesses bought about 2,000 tickets and the Alamodome box office was open until 10 p.m. Wednesday night, four hours longer than usual.

When tickets first went on sale, the line at the Alamodome snaked for a quarter mile, as thousands of football-starved fans jumped at the chance to buy tickets to see the Saints and for a chance to show how the nation's eighth-largest city can support an NFL team.

But Saints officials said Hurricane Rita then knocked ticket sales off course.

It still doesn't clarify as to where the blackout will be. In NO or SA?

this is just proof that the large market teams reap tons of benefits and the smaller market teams take all the crap. The way the NFL has handled this whole mess is rediculous.
