If the game continues to be exciting with the rule changes and the Sabres keep WINNING, people will by tickets. And all will be happy.

Very true, but it's pathetic that we couldn't sellout the arena for the first home game in 500+ days :;:

How many of those 15 games were sell outs?

How many does the HBC hold?

Edmonton sold out and, from what I heard on the radio (dang work) the place rocked.

I'm not going to buy a ticket if I can't watch other games on TV.

geez, if Washington and Florida outdrew us, thats sad. Well, it wouldve been 15704 if I still lived in Buf. Ya gotta keep in mind though, some of us here on this board are Sabres fans first than Bills fans ( I know I am) and think its ridiculous that they don't sell out an opening game. Sabres attendance is dictated by how the Bills are doing and moreso by time of the year. Attendance is always better after the Bills play week 17. The Sabres have been the picture of mediocrity for a long time now. People aren't excited about mid week games in October and November.

To answer Northern's questions, the HSBC holds 18,595. I'm guessing only Buf, Wash, Chicago, and Boston did NOT sell out. Chicago's United Center holds 20K+ with Boston and Wash having to have about 18K+. The Sabres have 8000+ Season ticket holders. A 7700 walkup gate is not bad. It'll get better if they play good hockey.

I got a word for those numbers...inflation...

those have to be tix sold...they showed highlights of the Ranger/Flyer game on MSG and from ice level you could see a LOT of empty orange seats in Philly....no way they had 19K for that game unless the arena holds 35K.

Should be a better crowd for Friday night.

No you could tell that the game wasn't a sell out because the worse of the 300 level 2 seats were all empty, a section in each corner of the arena...
