An offseason FA aquisition who contributed less than most of the rookies we drafted. What sort of contract did TD give this guy and do we pay him too much for a bench warmer?

I was dissapointed that they didn't use him more, but I think they didn't plan on Coy stepping in right away. They threw Jenkins in the game a few times during the season when they had problems stopping the run.

i would say eddie robinson was worse than jenkins. at least jenkins didnt get juked out of his jock strap on a crucial 4th down by chad pennington

I think that they just saw Coy Wire as a potential stud for years and were surprised in the mini camps and practices and pre-season how fast Wire picked things up. I would bet anything that TD and GW had some sort of discussion that said we're probably not going to the Super Bowl this year. Next year is our push. If we play Coy the whole year and give him the experience, regardless of his mistakes this year, it's going to give us a better chance when we HAVE a chance. Billy jenkins, didn't cost a lot, could have stepped in if Wire went down, and wasn't expected to be a star when we signed him. I dont think we can call him a huge bust, just a victim of timing and circumstance and limited skills.
