Bills didn't make it this season but this is the type of game we can look forward to next season. We should be playing the Titans right now.

It doesn't look good for Pittsburg. I don't see a comeback in them today.

I liked Cowher until his press conference tonight -- what's he complaining about? The 5-yd running into the kicker penalty is for EXACTLY the situation that occurred on the field -- the defensive player was not able to "pull out" in time, and hit the kicker. If the refs had called a 15-yd "roughing the kicker" penalty I could see the complaint, but Cowher's complaining because the refs made the mandatory 5-yd call. I thought Cowher was a classier guy than that, and I'm disappointed.

Passions are up, Rebecky, I'm sure tomorrow he'll re-think his complaining about that call. I DID like his challenge on whether that guy had his knee down or not, I liked the ref's answer, and I liked the outcome of the review! :D

the refs handed the Titans another game - if I were the ref, I wouldn't have thrown a flag for Nedney - he was clearly acting, and I totally agree with Bill Cowher, and it's not out of hatred for the Titans either - Nedney took like two steps with normal balance, and then fell down.

Cowher is a whiney ass baby. Things are good when he is coaching the Steelers because we have TD and they suck.

Sorry Ublink..........this is not the NHL. They don't have a penalty for diving in the NFL. The rules clearly state that if you run into the kicker, even by accident, it is a 5 yard penalty. The steeler clearly hit Nedney in the leg. I agree he put on a huge act and made it look like he was killed but the rules the rule and it was a penalty. I agree with Rebeky....................Cower was classless in his press conferance whining about the refs.

Would you expect anything different from Cowher ? Class is not in his vocabulary.

Cowher is scum.

Even if he did run into the kicker, he had no bearing on the trajectory of the ball.

The_Philster

Doesn't matter....that's the rule

Typ0

Even if he did run into the kicker, he had no bearing on the trajectory of the ball.

That's the funniest thing I have read in a long time. The rules are as they are to protect the totally defenseless kicker. They wear no pads. They have their leg sticking up there where they can get seriously injured. It has nothing to do with the trajectory of the ball.

The embellishment by Nedney was what any veteran NFL kicker does -- he tries to turn a "running into the kicker" into a "roughing the kicker" penalty. The refs (wisely) didn't bite. But all veteran NFL kickers try to draw the stiffer penalty.

Watching the replays -- where are those two extra steps Cowher was complaining about? I saw the kicking leg coming down and WHAM, he was hit on the kicking leg as it was coming down and hitting the ground. That's a mandatory penalty in anyone's book.

While I admire Cowher's passion, he's really out of line on this one. What about the bogus helmet to helmet penalty on Shulters (replays showed was shoulder to shoulder) which led to a Pitt score? Did Cowher complain about that call?

No, but he complained about the ref checking to see if a play was reviewable, getting it right, and then reviewing the play in Pitt's favor?! Cowher got the review and the call, and he still complains. I don't get this guy.

He did a great discredit to all the people who whine and complain about bad calls. His team blew it and they lost the game. Cowher couldn't handle that reality so he was grasping at straws trying to blame the refs. As much as we hate the refs when they screw up people have to understand they are in a no win situation. It would be really nice if they would become full-time instead of the hacks that they are things would be a lot different.
