The Buffalo Bills might get a break on the injury front when they meet the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
Raiders star receiver Randy Moss is listed as doubtful with a groin strain suffered in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers. Moss was injured late in the first quarter after leaping to catch Kerry Collins' underthrown pass. Moss landed awkwardly with two defenders on top of him. An exam this week revealed that besides the groin strain, he has a bone bruise in the pelvic region and bruised left lower ribs.
"He obviously took a pretty good collision and not only with a player but then hitting the ground the way he did, a real awkward situation," Raiders coach Norv Turner said Wednesday. "He's still pretty sore."
Moss has missed only three games in his eight-year career. He has 19 catches, which doesn't rank in the top 50. But his 466 receiving yards are 10th best and his per-catch average of 24.5 yards is No. 1. Two other Raiders are listed as doubtful. Starting center Jake Grove missed Sunday's game with a knee injury. He likely will be replaced by Adam Treu, a nine-year veteran with 35 starts. Situational pass rusher DeLawrence Grant is likely out with a sprained ankle. He had two sacks of Drew Bledsoe in last year's game.
