    Ray Rhodes quit Broncos

See this article. Ray Rhodes has resigned as the Broncos' defensive coordinator. Allegedly he is talking to Holmgren to join the Seahawks.

The frustration of not making the playoffs has apparently affected the defensive coaching staff of the Denver Broncos.

I say let's forget about LeBeau and get Ray Rhodes in Buffalo!!!

Rhodes biggest asset has always been, and it looks like will always be, his motivation skills. Greg Williams seems to already be a great motivator, so I don't think Rhodes would really bring much to the table.

do you have a source that suggests even an inkling of a possibility of the Broncos planning to pursue Lebeau Winfield?

How do you know that they won't promote a position coach to the position - like D- line, LBers, DBs coach?

Bronc fans are sniffing Titans boards asking about Titans LB coach (former KC head coach) Gunther Cunningham. I'll tell you this -- rumor mill in TN says that Gun's been a LOT more than a LB coach for the Titans D the past year.

Gunther is a psycho. A full out ranting mad man.

The Bears played the Chiefs the first game of the season three years back. The Bears were the first team to use those WR screens and they drove the Chiefs nuts with them. Gunther was spitting mad after the game, ranting like Chief Inspector Dreyfuss.

Report: Broncos may still have Rhodes under contract

If Ray Rhodes had not resigned as defensive coordinator of the Broncos, he likely would have been fired. That he quit, and wasn't canned, could turn out to be significant.

The Seahawks are believed to be interested in pursuing Rhodes to be their defensive coordinator, but a Broncos spokesman told the Seatttle Times Monday that Rhodes is still under contract with Denver. If so, Rhodes and the Seahawks would need the Broncos' permission to talk.

However, citing unnamed Broncos and NFL sources, the Denver Post reported over the weekend that Denver coach Mike Shanahan had excused Rhodes from his contract in a meeting Friday.
