It's only a matter of time....

The Sabres have taken 291 shots....in 8 games.

The next team closest to them in 8 games...New Jersey Devils with 246.

Thats an incredible stat.. averaging 36.5 shots a game.
The goalies that we have faced have been spectacular in net, and we are still pulling out these wins..eventually a goalie will crack after all this pressure they will see from our offense and the goals will begin to pour in. This is when Vanek starts lighting the light too. More good to come than bad, thats for sure.
:scooter:

When the Sabres outshoot their opponent, they are 5-0-0
When the Sabres are outshot by theire opponent they are 1-1-0
When the Sabres and opponents shot totals are tied they are 0-1-0

Wait until we face Atlanta, Columbus, and other teams with poor goalies.

It was the fourth straight game that Washington permitted at least 40 shots; Kolzig faced 49 on Thursday in a 3-2 defeat against Florida.

Could it be this Wednesday?

I keep thinking I should put my $$$ on Vanek scoring a hatrick. Despite the fact that he hasn't scored...he's going to light it up the way he plays. We've got to like his unselfishness though. It seems the team is trying to catch up to him at this point and he's doing everything he can to catch them up instead of trying to position himself as a star.

While Kolzig himself is an ok goaltender, Washington did squat to improve their "defense" for this season. Buffalo will need to be on their toes against Alexander "The Great" Ovechkin, but other than that, it should be money in the bank. :scooter:

But then again, I remember Buffalo not performing well before against "gimme" teams....... :crap:
