A move alot of you said that would have been crazy could have saved our season. All well, we will have a top ten pick. Hopefully TD will actually draft a linemen.

Yeah, I hate being right all the time. I said I had no confidence in Edwards and that we SHOULD try to bring in Simon.

No I didn't say that- I said the Fins would take ONE from us this year. The jury's still out on that one.

Eh, take it or leave it really. I wanted him in here, but in no way would he have saved our season. We have many holes people not just one. The sooner we and the FO realize this the better off we will all be.

draft RT - Cut mike williams (always hurt, not worth the money)
Virral(sp) is ok
Teague sucks(Time for duke preston)
draft LG (Bennie Anderson is fat and worthless)
draft LT - We need a dominate blocker

This years draft

1-OL
2-DT
3a-OL
3b -OL
4-OL
5-QB - To challenge JP?
6-DT - lets get some depth

I will agree with this, had we brought in Simon I think thats the difference in at least 1 maybe 2 games.

Its frustrating to think about that so I wont.

true, but do we have any reasonable suggestions for a replacement? I mean anybody can say anybody but TD, but Modrak maybe? Can somebody actually give us a reasonable list of both FO people who they could do a better job and could be had, like I think Pioli could do a great job but the chances of him coming here are slim to none.

General Managers:
*Scott Pioli -- Vice President of Player Personnel, New England Patriots
*Tom Heckert -- Vice President of Player Personnel, Philadelphia Eagles
Jim Lippincott -- Director of Football Operations, Cincinnati Bengals
Jerry Reese -- Director of Player Personnel, New York Giants

Coaches:
*Brad Childress -- offensive coordinator, Philadelphia Eagles
Jim Johnson -- defensive coordinator, Philadelphia Eagles
*Monte Kiffin -- defensive coordinator, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Larry Coker -- head coach, University of Miami Hurricanes
Bob Stoops -- head coach, University of Oklahoma Sooners
Frank Beamer -- head coach, Virginia Tech University Hokies

Tom Heckert or Scott Pioli (probably not likely) with Brad Childress as head coach sounds pretty good to me. I think we might be on the right track.

An idea of who some of the best coordinators are so far...

We could obviously use him but I really haven't seen much of him this year. Is he playing well for Indy or do they just have a great all around D? Plus he also has a huge contract.

Lippincott for GM might not a be a bad idea. I also really like Childress as a HC.

A brilliant young guy with a great attitude, ala Theo Epstein with the Red Sox, would be great for fan enthusiasm and appeal for the franchise I think.

Doesnt matter TD is extended, and MM wont be going anywere for at least 1 more season, he will get at least 3 seasons just like Williams.

Unfortunatley the situation we are in now is the same one we will have next season coaching/front office wise.

I disagree. I posted this a few times already. If we go worse than 6-10, I believe the fans and media morale will be so low that Wilson will have no choice but to fire Tom Donahoe. We don't know what kind of extension he gave Donahoe. There may be no guarantees, there may be performance clauses. I'm sure there are, actually. Why else would Wilson give him an extension before the season? Believe me, if Wilson has to fire Donahoe, he will.

As for Mularkey, ideally a new general manager would come in and evaluate him, then go from there.

Again, the key is guaranteed contracts and performance clauses.

Frankly, if we miss the playoffs, Donahoe should be unequivocally out the door. It depends on the pressure and morale at the end of the season. Wilson can't afford to have a fan mutiny, just like Mularkey couldn't afford to have a player mutiny with the Losman/Holcomb situation.

Wont happen, if after all the crap thats happened since hes been here h gets an extension in the off season you think this season is gonna hurt him enough to befired.

Wishful thinking.

He and Mularkey both are here next season.

draft RT - Cut mike williams (always hurt, not worth the money)
Virral(sp) is ok
Teague sucks(Time for duke preston)
draft LG (Bennie Anderson is fat and worthless)
draft LT - We need a dominate blocker

This years draft

1-OL
2-DT
3a-OL
3b -OL
4-OL
5-QB - To challenge JP?
6-DT - lets get some depth
7-whatever else

That's one of the worst evaluations I have ever heard. If you are watching the games, Anderson is playing better than Villarial, IMO. On top of that, Villarial is more expensive (I believe). The only knock on Anderson is he gets too many penalties. As of late, Anderson's run blocking has been superior to Villarial's. Villarial's push at the line of scrimmage in short-yardage situations is pathetic.

As for Preston, he needs to get a lot stronger. Weren't you watchin when Preston is in there at guard (at Villarial's position), teams easily stuff our short yardage situations? Preston will accmplish the same as Teague, or worse, if he takes over at Center - unless he gets a lot stronger. Seems to me that you are just going on the reputatation of these players.

As for your draft, we also have older safeties and linebackers. Finding an impact player at either position will be important. Whether that's done in the draft or FA will depend. I also think we need to draft a safety regardless. I dont like our depth at that position.

I think we also need to draft a big WR in the 2nd or 3rd round that can challenge for a starting job in a year.

And a 5th rounder QB...to challange JP?? What a joke. If there's a QB that can challange for a starting job, he will be long gone before the 5th round. Even if a star is found, he'll need AT LEAST 2 years to get ready.

In response to another post, I strongly believe that TD DID TRY going after Corey Simon. Even Simon's agent said that the Bills were one of the teams that contacted him. (sorry, no link). Simon got $30 million over 5 years to sign with the Colts ($5 million signing bonus). Pro-bowl DTs are not easily found. We probally would have kept him the full 5 years. I guess looking at our situation now, we should've paid him the money. TD said Simon was too expensive.

Oh well, the Colts have an $8 million dollar roster bonus option for Simon next year. I doubt they have that much money. Simon could very well be a free agent after this year is over.

First off, I was talking about GM. Second of all, I was HOPING that Mularkey was that guy, but with others like Crennel, Weis, etc. out there, I wanted to see them before Mularkey. I think a lot of us feared that he was just another Pittsburgh good 'ol boy for Tom Donahoe. I know I did.

Once he was chosen (which, let's face it, we had no control over), of course we all tried/try to LIKE the guy. But was he anybody's first choice? Second choice? Third choice? He was the cheap choice, and the easy choice for Tom Donahoe.
