Please stop the Charlie Weiss BS Talk

First, Mularkey is not going to get fired after this season, unless TD does, which is also highly unlikely.

Second, Ralph would never shell out the huge amount of $$$ it would take to pry him from Notre Dame's cold, dead hands.

Third, why in the name of Christ would Weiss WANT to come to Buffalo? Gimme ONE good reason? They have no O-line, fans that have about as much patience as a fat guy at an all you can eat buffet, and they SUCK. Buffalo is about the last place I'd expect Weiss, or any coach with half a brain for that matter, to come to. Anyone ever think the reason this team doesn't sign big name coaches is because they DON'T WANT TO COACH HERE? Ever thought about that?

Fantastic post. All this crap about Weiss is about as realistic as Buffalo going to the SB this year.

TD and Mularkey are both here for at least another season....AT LEAST.

Spend all this time and energy talking about the draft or something.

Ok, maybe not this year, but in theory it's possible because...

...it's the NFL and these guys will go anywhere to coach in it. The money usually sees to that, and Ralph might go for it.

...at this rate we'll likely have an opening sooner rather than later if we suck the rest of the way. MM won't even survive through a third ****ty year next season, or TD.

...the AFC east is a division Weiss knows better than most.

...Minnesota will be looking for another HC and they are worse than us. I really doubt Weiss would pick them over the Bills.

And besides, it's Tuesday and I can't wait for Sunday night. So I'm bored. That's why the Weiss talk.

There is as much of a chance of Weiss coaching the Bills as there is the Bills winning this Sunday in Foxboro.

Weis wouldn't leave Notre Dame for anywhere let alone Buffalo. That's his dream job. The only way I see Weis leaving ND is if he gets fired and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Weis' agent says he is staying:

"A recent story on NFL.com said an NFL team had inquired about the details of Charlie Weis's contract and a $1.5 million buyout. Would Weis leave Notre Dame after this year and go back to the NFL as a head coach? No, says Weis's agent, Bob LaMonte, who said such buyout clauses are standard language in many major college football contracts. ''Charlie has his dream job," said LaMonte. ''He's on top of the world right now." It's funny how things work out. When Weis was the Patriots offensive coordinator, he interviewed for head jobs and nobody would hire him. In Buffalo, Tom Donahoe went with Mike Mularkey over Weis because he was more familiar with Mularkey's coaching style from their Pittsburgh days."

                  Same article has this note:

"One of the more interesting names on the tryout list was Rohan Davey working out with the Bills yesterday. Davey was cut by Arizona after hooking on there following Kurt Warner's injury. Are the Bills serious about Davey or just gathering information?'

one thing to consider. ralph wilson pays sub-par people to hire more sub-par people for him. he is not capable of hiring people with real "football knowledge." td hired greg williams and co., then mularkey and the offensive mastermind clements. what's next? ralph doesn't care because td is filling the stands for 'ol ralph. that's why td got a contract extension. anyway, i'm getting off the topic here. bottom line, we won't see any decent coaches in buffalo for a while.

It's a ridiculous idea, but if we're going to talk about it, let's at least spell his name right.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I am not so sure he wouldn't bolt ND for and NFL coaching job if he was guarunteed full autonomy with all personnel.

why wouldn't the guy want to come to buffalo? twice a year he would have the chance to show his former boss who's boss. don't underrate that factor.

i wouldn't expect him to leave notre dame, though.

What? You must've meant to type "Twice a year he can get embarassed while Bill Bellicheck sodomizes him in front of 70,000 fans."
