(October 27, 2005) — After 8,552 fans showed up at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial to watch the second-ever NHL regular-season game in Rochester, the Buffalo Sabres will be re-evaluating whether bringing games to town makes sense.

"I'm disappointed, to be quite frank," said Dan DiPofi, chief operating officer for the Sabres, after Wednesday's game. "We sold maybe 700 tickets today (on game day) and 300 were probably from Buffalo."

Price was clearly a factor. All seats were sold in the lowest price range — $35 before any of the available discounts. But there were pockets of open seats in the $77 and $58 price ranges.
