October 28th.
1968- The Bills set a team record for fewest yards in a game, 113, as they lose to the Oilers at home, 30-7.

1973- On their first ever Monday Night Football appearance, the Bills defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 23-14. The nationally televised game is blacked out in Buffalo.

1984- Miami defeats Buffalo 38-7 at the Orange Bowl, and gains 493 yards on offense in the process.

1997- Chris Speilman is ruled out for the season with a herniated disc in his neck.

2001- The Chargers edge the Bills 27-24 at Qualcomm.

It still hurts... Bills defense really struggled and it seems that 1997 was the beginning of this mediocre era.

1997: With Jim Kelly's replacements Todd Collins and Alex Van Pelt both struggling all season the Bills play mediocre football all season. The Bills would fade at the end losing their final 3 games to finish with a 6-10 record. Following the season Coach Marv Levy, the winningest coach in Bills history would retire after a distinctive 11-year tenure. Levy would be replaced by Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips.
