Thats great and all... but what is the point in having 2 great CB's if noone needs to throw the ball against us to win?

Great CB's are only worthwhile if we have a way to sack the QB and stop the run. Otherwise they might as well not even step on the field.

He’s not just a corner. He puts the ball past the 40 just about every time the other team kicks off.

You mistook what I was meaning. I am fine and happy with signing. But for me... this offseason was about 2 things. Signing 1 of our CB's and getting a DT or DE.

With McGee signed.. Clements has to go. There is no point in having both of them if we arent forcing the opposition to pass.

Again, I like the signing of McGee. My post was referring to Clements.

Of course, it begs the question then... if Clements is gone... and McGee is your #1 CB.. .do you risk him on returns? My guess is we dont see McGee returning kicks next year. We see Parrish doing that.

Buffalo is going to use the Franchise Tag on Nate.

Oct 28 ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Buffalo Bills will probably use their franchise tag on CB Nate Clements following the season, as he is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.

I think they will use him in the same manner...Kick Offs, and D.B, by this time next year Parish will be our slot reciever and punt returner.

I guess we will have 2 first rounders next year! How about a DT and an OT or if we go Donahoe style a WR and a RB!

That's $1 million/yr proration

Bills do not have much 2005 cap space left

No way we pay him that much money just to be our corner.

Sorry but this extension was too late.
Players like him might be extended exactly when they are stepping up.
I wonder what would have happened if Bills extended him last year exactly when McGee performed so well that Vincent agreed to switch to FS once he returned.
On the other hand a 5 million signing bonus + 4 years extension seems to be a little unbalanced but anyway, we were really unlucky when Parrish get injured and didn't return kickoffs (made McGee a little expendable) from the beginning of the season...
