McNair may practice Thursday; Kearse might not at all

Titans quarterback Steve McNair did not practice Wednesday, and defensive end Jevon Kearse probably will not practice this week as the Titans prepare for the AFC Championship Game.

Kearse has pain in his left foot, which he broke in the opener. Coach Jeff Fisher said Wednesday that Kearse will concentrate on conditioning work and rest. Fisher expects Kearse to participate in 20-25 plays against Oakland on Sunday.

    UPDATE:

    McNair misses practice

McNair, who injured his thumb in last Saturday's game against Pittsburgh and is still battling turf toe, threw on the side during Thursday's session. The Titans worked out inside on artificial surface because of a snow storm in the Nashville area. "He threw well today, but just threw with our trainers and his coach," said Titans head coach Jeff Fisher. "He did not participate in any drills because we wanted to keep him off the artificial surface."
