Keys to the game, matchups and who must do what.

Go.

Ive given up on "stopping the run" and against Tomlinson thats a joke.

In my mind if our secondary plays strong and we can focus moreso on making SD HAVE to beat us on the ground.

If JP or Holcomb....whoever is in can simply manage the clock and willis gets going we may have a prayer.

The most critical matchup in my mind is SD's DL vs. our OL.

The defense is going to have to cause 3 or more turnovers because they are not going to shut down LT

Our ST's need to run one in and one of the defensive turnovers should also be run in. (That way we don't have to rely on the Offense to score those two times)

Devin

Yeah I dont even focus on that, LT will run over us. But if we can get some INT's and control their passing game we may have a (very slim) chance.

Run the ball and keep LT off the field. Take advantage of our redzone opportunities with TD's instead of FG's.

If we play this game the way we did against the patriots clock management wise we will have a chance.

Key will be keeping LT off the field cause we wont be able to contain him.

Yeah what he said.

what would be a reasonable concession to lt? i'll say 150 yds and 2 tds.

the rest of the team will have to play very strong to overcome that on the road. they can do it, but sd will be playing conservatively in the passing game if lt is rolling so it's gonna be real tough to get pickoffs.

and if the pass blocking is as horrendous as it was today neither qb is going to do well. that would be about the only reason i'd start jp if both were healthy. holcomb would have no chance in a hostile stadium if he gets the swiss cheese treatment he got today.

Stack the line to stop LT, put both safties on Gates and leave Clements and McGee alone in coverage. Gotta hope that they don't give the ball to LT much.

I have my fantasies. :D

I heard that's how they lost those early games, they weren't giving him the ball enough.

I got LT in my fantasy leagues though so I win either way.

lol i hear ya.

I assure you with our pathetic run defense, LT is all we will see.

Win the battle of time of possession.

Test their secondary early, it's been said to be suspect

Going deep early in the game should open up the running game. This is why Losman would be ideal to start. He has the bigger arm.

Keep their offense off the field as much as possible.

If the offense could actually get us a 14-0 lead early that would help neutralize LT.................................:cloud9:

Ok..................now back to reality

lol. I think one of the biggest things will be as you said. Clock management.

If LT aint on the field, he cant hurt us.

Maybe have our offense play well. So SD can't spend all day running on us.

SD will move the ball. No doubt about that. One of the keys will be red zone defense.

Their secondary IS suspect. Everyone is throwing against them. Their run defense is a different story. Some 4 receiver sets should help open things up. This could be a game where the pass sets up the run.

There's the possibility of it being the look ahead game for San Diego. They got the 9-0 Indianapolis Colts, the next week.

Oh, and I'll be wearing my Takeo Spikes pro bowl jersey in San Diego for luck. It worked nicely today. :D

I have the answer for shutting down LT. Simple..........TD needs to somehow make a quick trade for Bruschi, he can do it all apparently.

Truthfully, I do not see the Bills stopping LT at all. He will be crammed down our throat all game. The only way he will be stopped is if he gets injured. I'm not asking for anything serious, maybe leg cramps, or possibly a broken finger. The guy is a real talent and I enjoy watching him run wild, just not this coming weekend against the Bills. GO BILLS!!!!
