with a cap figure of 1.75 for this year and considering the fact that he is still injured and margues sullivan is palying well, should we cut him and use the cash to pick up a defensive lineman? also, michael early is playing pretty well and is versatile.

Although his cap figure is somewhat large, I'm pretty sure that I remember someone saying the savings aren't all that great if we cut him (how's that sentence for vagueness). Besides, his veteran presence is pretty much irreplaceable on that line with everyone young and learning new positions. Not necessarily irreplaceable on game day, but definitely during the week.

Cut him! Get the half the bonus hit out of the way this year!

Everybody wants to cut Jerry O, Jay R, and AVP in the name of saving a few bucks to pick up this "Phantom DL"

Restructuring would accomplish the same thing. It hasn't happened because there is no really great DL available (Stop with the Adams talk.. he's only about the cash, no team ethics)

Last season prooved you can't have enough depth. This team is very fortunate to have a lot of good starters making peanuts this season for their respective positions.

Let's keep them!

Jerry O signed an extension last year.....his cap number decreases after this year. He's a solid veteran OL.....notice I said OL......he's played every position on the OL......we do NOT have any serious cap problems that need to be resolved and releasing him just adds to the 2003 cap hit by $500,000

Indeed. Besides, anyone remember the horrendous status of our OL last year. We can't afford that w/ an immobile QB. You can never have enough OL-men as solid backups! If we have an injury or two on the OL, which is very likely, then we'll be very glad we kept Os around. The man can still play.

The last thing I want to see is Drew "running" for his life...

Do we really want to go into the season with MICHAEL EARLY as our top back-up at both guard positions? Yikes!
