Pay him, I think he has proven today against the Bolts that he deserves to be the highest paid CB in the league. He has only given up 2 of SD's 5 first half touchdowns against the best WRs in the league, Parker and McCardell.

Im still a little mystified as to how a pro-bowl CB lines up in the neutral zone.

Re: Nate Clements IS the best CB in the NFL
He definitely had a bad game but once he shuts down another Pro Bowl WR I doubt we will all be so quick to trash him. However I do think he will have problems with Steve Smith. He seems to have trouble with the quicker shiftier WRs.

I guess everyone forgot about him shutting down Chad Johnson last season?
Nate's problem is that he goes for the big stat-padding play at the expense of playing good football. He was in the neutral zone cuz he wanted his sack. He gave up the one touchdown cuz he tried to jump the route for an INT and a shot at 6 the other way. He would be the best corner in the game if he could keep his mind on winning instead of keeping his mind on his paycheck.
