Kyle Shrader (Orlando, FL): When can we admit, as an organization, that both lines have been insufficiently addressed in regard to personnel, and that the personnel we do have does not fit with our "schemes?"

Tom Donahoe: As a personnel staff, we do not feel that our lines have been insufficiently addressed. We have addressed the offensive and defensive lines both in free agency and the draft. Our biggest concern with the play of our lines has been inconsistency. At times this year, the line play has been very good and at other times it has been lacking. We have to continue to find a way to play more consistently on both sides of the ball.

What a beauty. I didnt even take until the offseason for TD to start making lame excuses as to why he wont do anything about our D-lines.
Umm, TD, umm, I dont mean to second guess you, but, the reason that both lines are inconsistent is because they dont have the overall talent to be good. You might want to rethink building a team of bargain basement players. If the beat all the odds and play better than they really should be we could be good, but all of them have proved that they cant. Might want to sh_t can this plan, yes your salary spreadsheet wont look as nice, but at least you will have paid top dollar for PROVEN top players rather than reaching on bench warmers like Ross Tucker, Bennie Anderson, Ron Edwards, Tim Anderson, Justin Bannan. How bad would it have been, TOM, to have a few guys from the growing list that you never even looked at like Damien Woody, Mike Wahle, Corey Simon, even Gerrard Warren
Not that hard of a concept. Spend the money for the best guys out there. Hell, even waste some money by overpaying on a few big names out there, cant be any worse than overpaying for the declining players you have.
Well, you can expect more of the same when he feels that we have adequately addressed the lines. You can expect to add another stud like Bennie Anderson, maybe an all pro like Jason Jefferson, or maybe, just maybe we can land a hall of famer like Ross Tucker.
Good job TD, good job.
Whoops, there was another gem at the end of it:
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=3 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD class=altRow1 align=right colSpan=3>
Nick Schneider (Walnut, CA): Besides the obvious need to sign Nate Clements, will you make it a priority to bring some top notch players to Buffalo, and will you have room to do so?
</TD></TR><TR><TD class=altRow2 align=right colSpan=3>
Tom Donahoe: At the end of every season we will sit down with the coaches and the scouts in our organization and prioritize what we feel is important for our offseason. We will look at any way, whether it be a trade, a free agent signing, the draft or a street free agent, to try and improve our roster and improve our football team. This is consistently how we have approached the offseason each and every year.
Then what your saying is you have consistently gone out and not got the job done. Really what he is saying here is that he looks at all the options. AND.... OK, you know how to do your job. Will you start doing it and actually start making some moves? You are trying? Umm, Tom, were your "trying" when you expressed NO interest in Corey Simon whne our rushing D was league last? Were you "trying" when you yet again drafted NO O or D lineman on day one? Were you "trying" when you didnt get proven young players like Joe Andruzzi, any LT that has started alot of games at LT, Mike Wahle, Buba Franks, Damien Woody, Gerrard Warren?
If this is your version of "trying" you are FAILING pathetically.
