Re: WOW. GOAL OF THE YEAR!
Malik's goal was pretty amazing. I got to see if something like 4-5 times last night, since Kelly Hrudey (Former LA Kings goalie, as well as HNIC commentator/personality) was trying to prove that it shouldn't have been allowed. The rules in the shootout state the puck must always be moving forward. His argument was the deke stopped the puck from doing so, and should've been disallowed.
Still, it was a damn sweet goal!

the puck was prolly moving, just not as fast as his legs, so the puck falls back, and his roofs it from between his legs,
on pavement, its hard to do it withthe puck going backwards, i can do it, by slowing it down and sending it thru the legs and then flipping it, but not by stopping it..
Edit: Just watched in High Def on ESPN HD, couldnt tell with the low res streams,
He did indeed move the puck backwards..
