Dolphins LB Thomas to try to play with torn labrum

Middle linebacker Zach Thomas, the heart and soul of the Miami Dolphins' defense for a decade, will attempt to play the remaining five games of this season with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Thomas visited noted Birmingham, Ala., orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews on Monday. Andrews cleared him to return to the field despite the injury. If Thomas can get through practices this week and handle the discomfort, he will try to play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills and wear a harness to limit shoulder movement.

      that was a fast update.

Maybe one of our lineman can hit Zach in the shoulder while blocking and... oh wait, what am I saying? Our lineman don't block.

        Yeah,

He's still listed as out, but then I saw that article - so as the week goes on I'll definately keep an eye on the esteemed espn/nfl injury reports to see if they get updated.

The shoulder did not keep him out last week, he had a high ankle sprain that kept him from playing.

Zach's Ankle Is Keeping Him Out...
          Posted on: 2005-11-26

[Sun-Sentinel] Dolphins middle linebacker Zach Thomas said a shoulder injury isn't what will keep him out of Sunday's game at Oakland.

Thomas said a high ankle sprain suffered on the first play of Sunday's 22-0 loss at Cleveland was a bigger concern to him than the shoulder ailment that knocked him out of the game late in the second quarter.

"I really feel like if it weren't for the ankle that I could play this week," said Thomas, who aggravated an ankle injury that sidelined him for two exhibition games. "I would just put a [shoulder] harness on. ... Once you can't run around, it makes problems."

Thomas is listed as doubtful, and looks like he will not play.

Saban is saying that Thomas won't play. However, it is early yet. If Thomas fells, looks and is better later in the week, he will play in my opinion.

I haven't been able to find anything on Sam Adams so far.

                          Here's the article on Thomas:

Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas will miss his second game in a row Sunday because of shoulder and ankle injuries.

Thomas was hurt Nov. 20 against Cleveland and sat out Sunday's victory at Oakland. The Dolphins host Buffalo on Sunday.

"He's not going to play this week," coach Nick Saban said Wednesday. "He probably will be able to play sometime in the near future, but that's going to be determined week to week."

High ankle sprains are notoriously slow healing. Bad wheels and a bad shoulder? Yeah, I think Thomas should play.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
