I'm listening to WEEI 850AM in Boston on the web right now. Boston fans are PISSED. Any trade that involves your best player being traded and receiving Wayne Primeau in return is not good. From what i'm hearing, Thornton had fallen out of favor with the GM of the Bruins.

All of us want him to make a trade when the team is doing bad but like Mike Robitaille says you don't make a trade just to make a trade. That's what Boston did they just made a trade just to make one because they're down in the basement of the division. I'm shure this will be one of the topics on the Shootout tonight.

My household is very torn on the trade.....
My wife loves Marco Sturm. He is her favorite player, on her favorite team. Although the Sharks do get better instantly at center, I wonder why a team with such piss poor defensive play this year would deal Stuart, their #2 or #3 blueliner?
As for Boston, they totally panicked, like Dozer said. This is obviously a trade made to "shake things up" for 2 basement teams, but damn, did Boston screw the pooch.

My guess is the Bruins realized it was their piss-poor play that forced the organization to make a "major" move to shake things up.
