    Jim Kelly

Just wanted to know where everybody thought JK ranks among the all time NFL QBs? I think he could be in atleast the top 5 despite no ring he still had 4 AFC championships!

    Stats wise perhaps top 15.

    Achievement wise? Top 5.

It wasnt so much his numbers as it was the type of player he was and what he accomoplished.

What if you include USFL numbers? Wasn't he throwing like 35 TD's and 4,000 yds a year in Houston for 3 or 4 years?

No thanks. I'm not particulary interested in Warren Moon.
The point was that Jimbo's NFL career was shortened by his stint with Gamblers and that should be considered when discussing stats.

If you are talking about "Best QB's of all time", Kelly is not in the top 5. Elway, Montana, Farve, Young, and (I'm sorry to say) Brady are all ahead of him on the list.

Notably, Marino is not on the list. Kelly was a better QB than Marino. Sorry Miami fans.

Now you're just being biased with all the SuperBowl wins and what not. Geez. 2 feet left and Young gets bumped from your list. If Thomas doesn't fumble at the start of the 2nd half in the 4th appearance, Farve Beans gets bumped from your list. Eventually, redemption will prevail.

Yes, being able to bring it in the post-season is important.

                    Re: Jim Kelly

A QB is NOT just how you throw - it is the entire game and Marino KILLED his RBs due to his play. Kelly was not a scrambler but he could lead, handoff, throw, block and if needed to tackle whomever caught an ill thrown or batted pass and knock him out of the game. THAT is a complete QB which Dan 'the Pizza Man' Marino could not do.

Dan WAS better at golf and getting endorsements while on IR so that should count for something but not much.

Thats what I was getting at before. Kelly brought other things to the table.
