    Anyone else miss Rusty Jones?

The Buffalo Bills have been out of shape and have struggled with hamstring injuries and all different kinds ever since Mularkey replaced him with that Brad Roll guy from Miami. Rusty Jones was a huge reason why the no-huddle offense worked and a huge reason why they never faded in the 3rd and 4th quarters. They always lasted a full 60 minutes. With Brad Roll, the Bills can't finish a game, get tons of hamstring injuries and are not a tough team.

Now look at the Bears. They are tough all the way through. They are outlasting their opponents and kicking ass. Plus, they are in good shape and playing a full 60 minutes. I havent seen them wilt in the 4th quarter like the Bills have for the last two years.

Even Gregg Williams knew what Rusty Jones meant for this team. But noo, Mike Mularkey had to have his own guy in there.

The Bears had two people with hamstring injuries and Rusty Jones knew what to do. They both played the games and were probable.

10/5/2005 Mike Brown Probable - Hamstring
11/9/2005 Adewale Ogunleye Probable - Hamstring

That's a good point, Mikey. Mularkey wants the Bills to be physically tough, but clearly they are far from it. Especially since we always have 2nd half meltdowns and terrible finishes. Maybe it's part of the conditioning...

That's what I'm saying. We never had those 2nd half meltdowns with Rusty Jones. Why the hell would you let the best Conditioning Coach in the game go?

I think the recent focus on steroid policies could have an effect on injuries. If guys are going off of things they are used to taking, in fear of an increase in testing due to media and government pressure, there is probably an increased probablility of injury. The increase in injuries doesn't seem to be just on the Bills, but all around the leageue.
Do I think Rusty Jones was valuable to the Bills? Yes. Do they miss him? Probably. Is his not being there the reason for injuries? Maybe. I wouldn't put money on it though. There are a lot of people out there who know a whole lot aboout sports training and conditioning, that are more than qualified for that job. Is Roll that guy? Who knows?

                    R. Jones had the experience to currectly diagnose the TKO injury as a strain before it became a season ending injury, and may've given the achilles the rest needed to prevent it from becoming fully blown.

TKO alerted the staff to the condition in Training Camp and it should've been up to the trainers to make the currect call to keep Spikes on the field.

The loss of rusty jones is a valid point. I think the guy we have know used to be in the dolphins org?

                            ME!

I've been saying all along that the players start sucking wind by half time. Another good move by Dumbahoe.

Not Donahoe. It was all Mularkey. Rusty Jones stayed on with the Gregg Williams staff and they were pretty much injury free during that time. Now once he fled the organization, they are running out of gas at the end of the game and get injured.
