I was trying to remember a season as disappointing as this one is. A season where we thought we were going to make the playoffs that ended in total disaster like this one.

The closest I came was 1976. The Bills were coming off of back to back 9-5 seasons and a wild card appearance in the playoffs. OJ was in his prime. It looked like everything was looking up.

Then, inexplicably (and in my mind, never fully explained) Head Coach Lou Saban imploded after a 2-3 start and picked up and quit the team. Jim Ringo took over, and I don't think he won a game that year. They ran the table to 2-12.

given that I wasn't born til 79, this is definitely the most disappointing season I can recall, at least as far as results deviating from expectations. At least we expected to struggle in the 3-13 season. We were supposed to be competitive this year, and now we're looking at a top 10 and possibly a top 5 draft pick.

1967 & 1968 as well.

Lots of Championship caliber talent lost to injury, bad trades, and bad coaching decisions.

Each of those times it took us 3-4 years to recover. :ill:
