North dominates South in low-scoring Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. — After a week in which South QB Carson Palmer (USC) dominated media buzz, there was little offense in the 54th Senior Bowl.

The North squad did enough to beat the South 17-0 on a crisp day at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

Notre Dame CB Shane Walton made the game-changing play. Leading 10-0 with Texas QB Chris Simms driving the South inside the 10-yard line, Walton jumped in front of Florida State WR Talman Gardner and grabbed Simms’ errant pass at the one-yard line, racing 99 yards down the sideline for a touchdown and a 17-0 North lead.

"We talked about winning this on defense all week," Walton said. "We liked our group a lot."
