There are a lot of football fans in Chicago who, with their Bears in hibernation, are pulling for one team or another in the playoffs. But there is one fan in particular who is having a hard time rooting against any of the four teams remaining.
Frank Lenti is his name. If you’re outside of Illinois, you probably have never heard of him. But in high school football lore in the Land of Lincoln, he is a legend. His record in 19 years as head coach at Mount Carmel, on the South Side of Chicago, is 222-30, choosing to speak for itself. Then there is the issue of those nine state titles that is tough to overlook as well. And he’s been rather successful in churning out good, well-rounded athletes who go on to college and succeed in all walks of life. Proof of that lies everywhere, most certainly in the NFL.
