Bledsoe had another career game last week. Well, the type right in line with those in his career that is, choking in a big-time key game. Four turnovers for Bumbledorfsoe.

he might just end up in the probowl...or the cowpokes end up in the playoffs...

He is leading all NFC QBs in votes right now.

3 of his 4 prior pro bowls ('96, '97, '02) were built on resumes of first half stats. That's just what he does. When the weather gets cold and games get meaningful, he becomes mediocre.

Exactly what does the pro bowl mean anyway? It is a popularity contest with fans from larger market teams having an edge. No way Vick should have gone to the probowl, but the hype put him there. Probowl is a huge joke.

and so will this years pro bowl vote.. if they voted after the season was over, people would never consider him..

there is always an excuse.. but phil.. just wondering.. when it happens year after year.. when does it become a trend and not just a "blame the Oline" thing?

The_Philster
12-08-2005, 06:49 PM
the trend is that Bledsoe needs a good O-line to succeed...perish the thought he can't do it on his own

Tatonka
12-08-2005, 06:51 PM
he needs 5 ****ing hall of fame linemen in front of him for him to not choke in the second half of the season or in an important game.

perrish the thought that he is any different than any other scrub in the nfl.

Puhlease. The excuses are back again. How many qb's out there didn't miss a heatbeat just because 1 OL got hurt.

Flutie never had an OL :snicker:

Bledsoe is doing what good QB's do, making his teammates look better than they are. It's the same thing he did here. Some of you dorks really need to stick to Star Wars, as you have no clue about football. Will he carry a subpar team to a Super Bowl,? No, but what QB ever has??? For all the crap about him being a choker, Exactly how is that so? The one time he had a Super Bowl caliber team (1996), he brought them to the Super Bowl. His las game in New England, he beat Pittsburgh on the road in the AFC Championship game, that was NE's toughest win on the road to the Super Bowl, and he still gets no credit for that game.

People make it out like any other QB would have succeeded in the situations he's been in. This team was not even close to being an elite team during his tenure, and it is evident now. Every week we read more hype about Losman on this board, and he's not even close to being as productive as Bledsoe was last year. Also, has he even made a positive play in the second half of a game this year? Why is he not a choker? Funny the Bledsoe bashers will pull out every excuse in the book for him.

Continuing on the choker theme. How did Peyton Manning do last year when he ran into a superior NE team? Leads the best regular season offense of all time, then is held to 3 points in the AFC championship game. Similar situation the year before as well. Why isn't that a choke job? How about Bret Favre's recent playoff performances, including the 6 int game a few years back. Choke job? How'd Elway fare in his first few Super Bowls? What about Kelly and this team when they played the Giants and Cowboys in the SB? 2 teams that made a lot of Columbians rich. The Bills folded like a cheap suit when they ran into superior competition. Is Tom Brady carrying NE this year like he supposedly did in the past?

The bottom line is, a QB is only as good as he teammates make him look. Good QB's can rise the performance of their team, but only to a certain extent. Every QB in the league has ran into superior competiton at some point in their careerand came up on the short end of the stick. That is a fact that can not be argued.

Bledsoe is doing well this year, he took over a 6-10 team and has them on pace to win about 10 games. Those of you making it seem like the Cowboys have a Pro Bowler at every position need to pull your heads out of your asses, as a team like that would have won more than 6 games. Likewise, he helped this team win 9 games last year, and they'll be luck to win 6 games this year. And before you ***** about the schedule look at who the Cowboys play this year. They have playoff contenders practically every week.

Bledsoe is doing just fine this year, and that is why he's leading the NFC in Pro Bowl voting, and playing QB for one of the top 5 coaches of all time.

The Cowboys are 3-3 since beating the Giants (in OT) in week 6. They beat Arizona, Philly and Detroit. All losing teams. They lost to Seattle, Giants and Denver. All winning teams.

So I'm still not seeing Drew stepping up against winning teams, but I am seeing his usual decline after mid season.

Just like old times.

Cowboys vs. winning teams this year: 2-4
Cowboys vs. losing teams: 5-1

Looks like a repeat of us last year, when a creampuff schedule make us look better than we really were
