No Monkeying Around: Top Five Replacement Candidates for Tom Donahoe

These guys are all credible, and I think that Ralph would see that all of their expertise, media skills, and charismatic personalities would make them significant upgrades over Tom Donahoe. Here are my Top Five replacement candidates for Tom Donahoe:

    5. Bobby DePaul -- Vice President of Pro Personnel, Chicago Bears

    4. Tom Heckert -- Vice President of Pro Personnel, Philadelphia Eagles

    3. Ron Wolf -- Former President and General Manager, Green Bay Packers (only drawback -- could be expensive)

    2. Jon Gruden -- Head Coach, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (a long shot addmitedly, there are grumblings that he is unhappy with the Glazers, maybe offer him the GM position also?)

And my number one replacement upgrade for Tom Donahoe...

    1. The chimpanzee from the Red Rose Tea commercials (more charismatic, entertaining, better media skills, would be able to pick better players, more fan friendly, and a guarantee that everyone would go 'ape' over him!)

I'd take Tom Heckert or Bobby DePaul. Ron Wolf would be nice, but it's a fantasy.

Mikey, WTF? I thought you of all people would get a rise out the chimp comment? Maybe if we bring in DePaul or Heckert, the chimp can replace Modrak...

          Whoa! Gruden?

That would be sweet if we could somehow lure him here to be HC/Director of Player Personnel (or something to that effect, giving him a larger voice in acquisitions)

          I know.......ain't gonna happen.

Why would Wolf be a fantasy?

Ralph isn't taking any money with him when he retires.

Wolf has shown he will work for a small market team with a rabid fan base, in cold weather no less.

Gruden is going to leave sunny Tampa Bay for Buffalo?

It's a long shot granted, but he has worked in Green Bay, Philadelphia, and Oakland (while having nice weather, it's a dive of a city).
