2006 NBC Flexible Prime Time Schedule

NFL | 2006 season will see flexible prime-time television schedule
    Sun, 11 Dec 2005 18:13:01 -0800
Ed Sherman, of the Chicago Tribune, reports NBC, who won the rights to broadcast Sunday night games starting with the 2006 season, will have flexible schedule abilities to prevent meaningless games from being played on prime-time television. NBC will be able to change games, but Fox and CBS will be able to protect their top games. Teams will also be limited to four prime-time games in one season, three on Sundays and one on Monday.

I have mixed feelings about this.

Sort of off topic but next year, the Lions have the CBS game on Thanksgiving, which means they have to play an AFC team. Either the Bills or Fins will be playing. Unfortunately, it looks like the Fins will be playing that game.
LA needs a football team so that I can watch a Bills game live.

He said the limit per team was one monday nite game so that guarantees us one, no?

Yeah, well, it's actually impossible. 17 weeksx2 = 34 teams. There are only 32 teams.
"'Clean up your room.', 'Stand up straight.', 'Pick up your feet.', 'Take it like a man.', 'Be nice to your sister.', 'Don't mix beer and wine, ever.'. Oh yeah, 'Don't drive on the railroad track.'"

"Eh, Phil. That's one I happen to agree with."

There's no Monday night game on week 17

Keep in mind MNF will no longer be what they want to be the marquee matchup...we can get on SNF with a putrid record right now...that'll be the same thing

God I'd hate to see SF playing Houston on Monday night.
